When the power battery can achieve high power output, short charging and low-cost manufacturing, the spring of electric vehicle development will really come.

High-performance battery has become a hot spot of technology development. At present, China's power battery can achieve charge and discharge 1200 times, and the energy density is about 100Wh/kg, the cost of the power battery per kilogram is about 400 Yuan. By 2020, the power battery technology is expected to achieve charge and discharge 3000 times and the energy density is up to 300Wh/kg, while the cost of power battery per kilogram will decrease to 30 percent of 400 Yuan. Kao Ming Ouyang, Tsinghua University Professor, said that electric car users can really get rid of anxiety for battery range when the energy density of power the battery reaches 250Wh/kg-300Wh/kg.

According to relevant reports, China, the United States, South Korea, Japan and many other countries are conducting the research on power battery; it is more difficult to assess that which kind of technology is more advanced. In addition to the vehicle manufacturer, many small start-up companies are conducting the study on power battery technology. It is believed that the next generation of power battery will reach 300Wh/kg in the near future because of the efforts of the entire industry. At present, Hybrid Electric Vehicle is clearly more advantageous than pure electric Vehicle, Hybrid Electric Vehicle not only has mature technology architecture and consumer market, but also it does not rely on infrastructure investment and construction.
